Every truck. Every load. Every compliance check — automated.

Oil & gas facilities operate under strict regulatory, safety, and chain-of-custody requirements. Aviro360 automates the gate, enforces compliance rules at every entry, and gives operations teams live visibility into every asset on-site — without manual data entry.

This walkthrough follows a tanker truck arriving at a midstream terminal — from gate approach through load completion and secure departure. Nine slides, zero clipboard touches.

Camera detects the truck at the gate approach.

As the tanker enters the approach lane, Aviro360's camera array captures the truck, reads the license plate and DOT number, and pings the carrier database — before the driver touches the kiosk.

No guard stops the truck. No driver call ahead. The camera does the work in under three seconds — five compliance checks cleared before the front axle crosses the gate line.

Driver credentials and HSE requirements verified at the kiosk.

The driver approaches the kiosk and scans their Driver's License. Aviro360 reads the DL optically and queries CDLIS to confirm CDL class and endorsements in real time. The kiosk then walks the driver through each required HSE acknowledgment before the barrier lifts to the loading area.

Step 2 · Driver & HSE Check

The DL scan confirms the driver holds a CDL-A with both the Hazmat (H) and Tanker (N) endorsements required to haul UN1267 crude oil. If either endorsement is missing or expired, the kiosk holds the driver and routes an exception to HSE.
  • H2S Awareness Certificate
Driver enters cert # or scans QR code at kiosk → validated against training database · Cert 2025-01-15 · Valid 12 months · H2S is a colorless, odorless gas present at upstream sites — mandatory awareness training before yard access

All credential and HSE checks clear in under 90 seconds. If any check fails — expired H2S cert, missing endorsement, unacknowledged briefing — the barrier stays down and an exception is routed to the HSE queue automatically.

Load record matched — SOR confirms rack assignment.

Aviro360 queries the terminal's Scheduling & Ordering system (SOR) the moment the vehicle is identified. The SOR is the source of truth for rack assignment — Aviro360 reads the assignment and delivers it to the driver at the kiosk, then signals the downstream systems.

The SOR tells the driver where to go — Aviro360 reads the assignment and delivers it to the driver at the kiosk. Aviro360 then signals the rack controller and TMS automatically — the driver gets a text before they reach the loading area.

Hazmat placards and tank condition verified on approach.

Camera arrays capture placard positioning, UN number visibility, and tank exterior condition as the truck moves through the inspection lane. Any deviation from the expected profile triggers an immediate hold.

Step 4 · Hazmat Inspection
  • Placards — All Four Sides Present
UN1267 · Flammable Liquid · Class 3 confirmed · OCR readable on all four sides
  • UN Number Readable — All Sides
OCR extracted "1267" with high confidence on front, rear, driver, and passenger sides
  • Vent / Relief Valve Visible
    Confirmed open and unobstructed
  • Emergency Response Guidebook
    Confirmed on kiosk attestation
A placard hold is triggered when a placard is absent from any required side, or when the OCR camera cannot extract a readable UN number. It is the absence or unreadability of the placard — not visible damage to the tank — that blocks the truck.

The corrosion inspection expiry at 90 days is a soft flag — logged to the carrier scorecard and flagged for follow-up, but not a hold condition under current policy. Hard holds require immediate HSE routing.

Exceptions routed before the truck reaches the rack.

When a compliance check fails, Aviro360's rules engine doesn't just block the truck — it routes the specific exception to the right queue with full context, so the right person can act without hunting for information.

Step 5 · Exception Routing
HSE / Safety Queue

Safety Hold

Expired H2S cert · Placard missing · Tank damage detected · Hazmat mismatch. Truck held at inspection bay. HSE manager paged immediately. Barrier remains down.

Compliance Queue

Regulatory Exception

Lapsed DOT authority · Missing insurance · Out-of-date drug test. Carrier relations notified. Visit flagged pending resolution. No access until cleared.

Yard Ops Queue

Load Mismatch

Product mismatch · Wrong volume · No BOL match · Unscheduled arrival. Dispatcher notified. Truck held at gate lane. TMS exception created for manual review.

Every exception has a clock. Aviro360 tracks resolution time against configurable SLAs and escalates automatically — no dispatcher has to remember to follow up.

Loading monitored in real time — meter data via API integration.

Once the arm is connected, the flow computer or LACT unit pushes meter readings to Aviro360 via API integration. Aviro360 records the start reading, monitors volume and fill rate in real time, and alerts the terminal operator if anything deviates from the BOL.

Meter data comes directly from the flow computer or LACT unit via API — not from a camera. If fill rate drops unexpectedly or API gravity falls outside spec, Aviro360 alerts the terminal operator immediately — not after the truck rolls out.

Departure confirmed — visit record closed.

When loading completes, Aviro360 receives the final meter reading via the flow computer API, notifies the TMS integration to update the BOL, and issues departure clearance. The exit camera reads the truck out — dwell clock stops, visit record closes.
